Janice Marie Jones Kaiser, 73
Janice Marie Jones Kaiser, 73, of Benton City, Washington, died Jan. 12, 2021, in Benton City. At her request, no committal service was held.
She was born Nov. 8, 1944, in Dugginsville, the daughter of Josh and Ida Jones. She attended school in Dugginsville until 1953, when her family moved to Washington.
On Sept. 28, 1962, in Prosser, Washington, she married Jack Kaiser.
Mrs. Kaiser had a warm heart and a gentle spirit; she was blessed with extraordinary energy, character, determination and humor. Her warm spirit enhanced the lives of her children, and she relished the care of her grandchildren.
Her lighthearted outlook on life brought out her creative skills. She hand-made and gave away hundreds of quilts. She was also an outdoor person and an avid gardener whose produce was envied by family and neighbors. She loved canning and preserving her bounty and carrying on the traditions of family care set forth by her mother.
Mrs. Kaiser appreciated her home by painting and changing colors so many times that she claimed she had actually lost square footage. Her photography skills were well known by her family; all one had to do was look at her many albums. She was a patriotic American and proudly flew the flag outside her home. She was a voracious reader, especially of history. She could remember and quote, where appropriate, a lyric from every country song she’d ever heard.
To those who knew and loved her, Mrs. Kaiser was a fighter and an inspiration.
She is survived by her children, Gary Kaiser and Rhonda Kaiser; her grandchildren, Rikki Lee Kaiser, Jack Kaiser, Brock Kaiser, Carl Kaiser, Saige Kaiser, Evan Wilson and Jimi Shaw; and two sisters, Mary Jones and husband Rudy Lopez, and Joyce Jones Baur and her husband Richard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Jack Kaiser, her husband of 49 1/2 years; her beloved son Jimmy Kaiser; and her lifelong best friend, her brother Lowell Harold Jones, formerly of Isabella.
