Kirby Doyle Reich, 89

Funeral services for Kirby Doyle Reich, 89, of Theodosia, were held Sept. 26, 2020, at Lutie True Hope Church in Theodosia. Mr. Reich died Sept. 25 at his home.

He was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Lutie, the son of Quincy Clarence and Shirley Ruby Jones Reich.

He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1949. He described clearing his land with his dad’s help using chopping axes and a team of horses. He was also a proud ironworker, saying he only had a #2 hat and a size 17 shirt. He was a fun, loving man who made many friends during his life. He was the local “historian”; locals knew there wasn’t much about the Theodosia area he couldn’t recall. He will be remembered as a good friend, always smiling, always ready to laugh. He said he did it his way, but only with the grace of God. He will truly be missed, but his family looks forward to seeing him again in God’s kingdom.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Reich, of the home; one son, Von Reich and wife Stephanie; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mona Woolridge; one daughter, Terri Jackson; two sons, Van Reich and Kirk Reich; and his second wife, Deloris Stumpfoll Reich.

Burial was in the Lutie Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Arrangements by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
