Marlene Smith Page, 83

A private family gathering in honor of Marlene Janice Smith Page, 83, of Wichita, Kansas, will be held at a later time in Wichita. Mrs. Page died Nov. 19, 2018, in Wichita.

She was born Dec, 28, 1934, in Fordland, the daughter of Louie “Flay” and Ivon Florence Cornielison Smith. The family moved to Isabella when Marlene was a child.  She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1952 and then moved to Wichita, where she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone.

On Dec. 28, 1953 in Wichita, she married Frank Page and made a home for their family wherever his Air Force career took them: Nebraska, New Jersey, England, Louisiana and back to Wichita.

Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, art, oil painting, drawing, architecture, history, reading, country music and collecting figurines and kitchen gadgets. 

Survivors include sons Patrick D. “Rick” Page and wife Debra of Wichita, and Gerald L. “Jerry” Page and wife Jackie of Louisville, Tennessee; daughters Kathy L. Hansen and husband Kurt of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Patti J. Brockmeyer and husband Mark of Maize, Kansas; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and several Ozark county cousins and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, USAF Master Sgt. Franklin M. Page; and one brother, Donald Smith, formerly of Isabella.

A private graveside service will be held before burial at Parker Cemetery in Creighton, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market St., Wichita, KS 67202.
