Narvil Tetrick, 76

Funeral services for Narvil Tetrick, 76, of Ava, were held July 20, 2020, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava with Pastor David Dodson and Pastor Bill Comer officiating. Mr. Tetrick died July 16 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield with his family by his side.

He was born Aug. 5, 1943, in Trail, the son of Lewis and Valley Tate Tetrick. On April 28, 1962, in Hartville, he married Beverly Fletcher. Mr. Tetrick worked at Burlington Northern Railroad.  

He was a Christian and a faithful member of Gentry Church in Ava for many years. He enjoyed  traveling with his wife, Beverly, through many states. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him the greatest joy.

Mr. Tetrick also enjoyed running dogs, working horses and making molasses.  He was an avid hunter and liked hunting fox, coyote  and coon. He loved cooking, and he especially loved eating fish. 

He is survived by his two daughters and their spouses, Tammy Merrifield and spouse Wayne, and Teresa Vaverka and spouse Kim; six grandchildren, Lacie, Josie, Casey, Sadie, Corey and Stephanie, 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Hasae Tetrick, Windle Tetrick, Ferd Tetrick and Dwight Tetrick; two sisters, Ima Griggs and Debbie Croney; several nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly; and a great-granddaughter, Ellah May Terrill; and five siblings.
