Robert Lee Hannaford, 81
Funeral services for Robert Lee Hannaford, 81, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, were held Oct. 31, 2020, at East Side Baptist Church in Mountain Home. Mr. Hannaford died Oct. 27 in Mountain Home.
He was born June 22, 1939, in Gainesville, one of the seven children born to Elvis and Loma Hannaford.
He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1957, and on Nov. 12, 1960, he married Carolyn Duckworth. They were stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where Mr. Hannaford served in the Army.
Mr. Hannaford professed his life to Christ at an early age. He enjoyed being a member of the Gassville Baptist Church and serving as a deacon. In 1970, Robert and his brother, the late Jerry Hannaford, opened Hannaford’s Tire Service in Gainesville, where he worked until retirement.
Mr. Hannaford was an avid hunter and took many hunting trips with family and friends. He will always be remembered for his love for the Lord, his family and the outdoors, and for his handsome smile and patience.
Those who knew him will never forget his arms that held and rocked his grandchildren as he sang to them, the change in his pockets, his love for the Cardinals, his kind and beautiful heart, his calming voice and much more.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn “Ma” Hannaford of Mountain Home; four children, Tracy Hannaford and wife T.J., and Jason Hannaford and wife Alia, all of Mountain Home, Keith Hannaford and wife Benita of Yellville, Arkansas, and Lorie Harvey and husband Art of McKinney, Texas and; a brother, Dwain Hannaford and wife Lisa of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bill Hannaford, Jerry Hannaford and Kenneth Hannaford, and two sisters who died as infants.
