To my fellow supporters of Proposition Gainesville Schools

“Every election is determined by the people who show up.” –  Larry J. Sabato

For the past several weeks I have measured time based on “how many more weeks until the election.” On Monday, when I woke up, I thought to myself, “Oh boy, we’re in the home stretch.” Some folks might think that sounds silly, but for me, the campaign for Proposition Gainesville Schools is one of the most important things I have ever worked on.

I graduated from Gainesville. My parents and my in-laws graduated from Gainesville. I’m now a mother to my own two little Bulldogs. We are immersed in “school days,” so to speak. This is a huge part of our life. It should come as no surprise that we support the proposition. That we will make time to vote and then stay up on election night to watch hopefully as the results come in.

I realize the upcoming election isn’t at the forefront of everyone’s world. I know not every supporter lives and breathes Proposition Gainesville Schools, even though they want it to pass, and that’s OK. It’s OK as long as we follow through and exercise our right to vote.

Throughout this campaign I have visited with and worked with so many people who feel as passionately about this as I do, and I am encouraged by you all. I am hopeful because of you. We are in the home stretch now, fellow supporters. It’s our responsibility to not only make voting a priority for ourselves, but also to remind our families, friends and neighbors to get out and vote.

We can’t afford to miss any votes this time. Every vote is important. Every vote counts. Don’t miss your chance to make a difference for the future of our community. Vote yes on Proposition Gainesville Schools.
