David Lee ‘Red’ Newton, 63

Funeral services for David Lee “Red” Newton, 63, of Wichita, Kansas, were held May 7, 2018, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville with Richard Martin officiating. Mr Newton died May 3 at Life Care Center of Andover, Kansas.
He was born Oct. 12, 1954, in Gainesville, the son of Harold Dean and Jerlean (Kelley) Newton. He was a graduate of Dora High School. After graduating, he moved to Wichita, where he began a long-time career as a truck driver. He enjoyed driving for many years until his health began to fail. He loved going to auctions and flea markets. He was a kind-hearted and loving man who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his two brothers, Bob Newton and wife Brenda of Dora, and Bud Newton of Mountain Grove; one sister, Juanita Smith and husband Mike of Gainesville and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Dean and Jerlean Newton.
Burial was in the Hale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hale Cemetery.
