Donna Gail Clayton, 73

Funeral services for Donna Gail Gibbs Clayton, 73, of Theodosia, were held July 9, 2018, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville with David Mahan officiating. Mrs. Clayton died peacefully July 6 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, surrounded by family.
She was born Aug. 16, 1944, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Leslie and Mary Helen Richardson Gibbs. On May 22, 1965, in Kansas City, she married Harlin Clayton.
She was a hard worker and a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for the Olive Garden restaurant for 21 years, only recently retiring. She loved to watch her granddaughters barrel race as they were growing up. She also loved caring for her dogs. Recently she enjoyed watching her great-granddaughter ride her pony around the farm.
She always enjoyed visiting with friends and family and was an avid pitch and marbles player. She was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandson.
She was one of a kind and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her two daughters, Shelly (Shane Funk) of Thornfield and Shanna (Erica Clayton) of Theodosia; two granddaughters, Ashley (Justin Lancaster) and Shelby (David Hood); and two great-granddaughters, Audrey and Claire Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Burial was in the Hicks Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hicks Cemetery, Lutie Cemetery, Graham Cemetery or The Center in Gainesville.
