Dorman Ray May, 74

Funeral services for Dorman Ray May, 74, of Springfield, formerly of Caulfield, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. May died Oct. 5 at his home.

 He was born Feb. 11, 1945, at Elijah, the son of Claudie Elva and Martha “Lorene” Moss May. He graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1962. On Aug. 25, 1975, in West Plains he married Betty Joyce Hall. Mr. May was an Army veteran.

He was a rancher and loved his horses and working with cattle. He also loved his family and enjoyed visiting. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

 He is survived by three children, Debbie Conklin and husband T.K. of Springfield, Mary Elizabeth Kiefer and husband Michael of Belvidere, Illinois, and Marc May and wife Pamela of White Oak, Georgia; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Orbie May of West Plains and Palmer May of Halfway; one sister, Eva Garner and husband Ed of Newport News, Virginia; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, who died March 13, 2011; one son, Robby Laxton; one grandson, Ryan Sheetz; one great-grandson, Kaiden; one sister, Elva Dean Kreger; and one brother, Elwood May.

Burial will be in the Cureall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cureall Cemetery and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at robertsondrago.com.
