Earlene Looney Crisp, 97

Funeral services for Earlene Linnie Looney Crisp, 97, of Gainesville, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home with Jimmy Kyle officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Crisp died March 19 at Gainesville Health Care Center.
Nnow to family and friends as “Earl,” she was born Oct. 10, 1920, in Gainesville, the daughter of Clyde and Cora Luna Looney. On Oct. 14, 1937, she married Horace Greeley Crisp after meeting him at a baseball game in Big Flat, Arkansas.
She worked and retired from Baxter Healthcare in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She enjoyed gardening, piecing quilts, golfing and anything involving her grandkids, especially watching them play sports. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Gainesville.
She is survived by four grandchildren: Dana Crisp and wife Marsha, Monty Crisp and wife Jana, Lane Crisp and fiancéd Connie Camden, and Shannan McGee and husband Keith, all of Gainesville; one brother, Marvin Looney of Pontiac; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died in 1966; one son, Darrell Crisp; one great-grandson Jaxon Crisp; five brothers: Ira, Harley, Bennie, Bonnie and Jim Looney; and three sisters, Gertie Hickey, Tessie Adams and Doris Clark.
Burial will be in the Lilly Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Earlene Crisp Memorial Fund, c/o Century Bank of the Ozarks, P.O. Box 68, Gainesville, MO 65655. Funds collected will be used to erect a monument at the Gainesville ball park in her memory.
