Eldon Mahan, 94

Funeral services for Eldon Mahan, 94, of Gainesville, were held Aug. 23, 2019, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville with Brother Mike Dillin officiating. Mr. Mahan died Aug. 20 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas, after a long run with COPD. 

He was born May 30, 1925, in Gainesville, the son of Homer and Faye Scott Mahan. On March 26, 1949, in Mountain Home, he married Genelle Quick. For many years, he worked as an agent for Standard Oil; he later worked for Ozark County LP Gas. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Gainesville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Genelle Mahan, of the home; his daughter, Julia Naylor, of Mountain Home; two grandchildren, Chad Naylor and wife Alicia of Nixa, and Erica Naylor Pleasant and husband Chase of Salem, Arkansas; great-grandchildren Emma and Easton Naylor of Nixa, Cadence, Ava and Nova Pleasant of Salem, Arkansas; nieces Barbara Shingleton of Houston, Texas, Mona Brown of Springfield, Illinois, Linda Johnson of Springfield, Missouri, Sandra Krueger of Brenham, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Glenn and Max Mahan.

Burial was in the Lilly Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lilly Ridge Cemetery.
