George Twitty, 86

Funeral services for George Alvie Twitty, 86, of Wasola, were held March 17, 2018, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava with Pastor Maxine Lund officiating. Mr. Twitty died March 13 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
He was born Aug. 26, 1931, in Wasola, the son of Oliver Seaton and Florence Smedley Twitty. On Nov. 17, 1957, at the courthouse in Ava, he married Lavona McDaniel. He was a Christian and was baptized by his sister, Pastor Maxine Lund. He attended Oak Grove General Baptist Church. His life was working on the farm with his boys. He had also worked as a road grader operator in Ozark County for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Lavona, of the home; four sons, Tim Twitty and fiancée Kim, and Greg Twitty, all of Wasola, Roger Twitty and wife Rhonda of  Forsyth, Joe Twitty and wife Elaine of Pascagoula, Mississippi; one sister, Maxine Lund and husband James of Seymour; one brother, Trevis Twitty of Muscatine, Iowa; three grandchildren, Michelle, Ceton and Ashley; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Stanley; and two sisters, Marie and Linda.
