She was born June 20, 1939, in Gainesville, the daughter of George and Ollie Crisp. She graduated from beauty college in 1963 and later purchased the college that she attended in West Plains. She owned and operated the school for 10 years before selling it and then opening Marsha Kay Beauty College in Mountain Home, Arkansas, in 1973. There she worked with her daughter, Marsha Kay Snedecor, until retiring on June 4, 2014. Mrs. Evans dedicated 52 years of her life to teaching and helping her students. She loved the profession; it was her life. She had a love for life and for people. She enjoyed painting and cooking, and she especially loved her kids and grandkids. She also loved her two dogs, Cheyenne and Ziggy Bear, and her five cats.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, Michael Ray Evans, her soulmate and partner; one son, Kerry Robbins and wife Latricia of Gainesville; one daughter, Marsha Kay Snedecor and husband James of Brookline Station; one sister, Ovia Marie McGinnis and husband Leroy of Cuba, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was so proud of her grandkids: Kyler Robbins, Peanut Robbins and Chelsea Snedecor, and especially her six great-grandkids, Aubrey, Logan, Blaine, Britton, Korbin and Kylie. They were her pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, T.J. Robbins Jr.; one child, Monty Jeff Robbins; four brothers, G.R. Crisp, Horace Crisp, W.P. Crisp and Hayes Crisp; and one sister, Otilee Wallace.
Burial will be in the Lilly Ridge Cemetery.
