Helen Maxine Long, 87

Funeral services for Helen Maxine Long, 87, of West Plains, were held March 23, 2018, at Gospel Hill Church of Christ in Pottersville. Mrs. Long died March 20 at her home.
She was born Oct. 30, 1930, at Moody, the daughter of  James W. and Etta  Hardcastle Joice. On April 3, 1954, in Leota, Missouri, she married Melvin Long.
Mrs. Long was a homemaker and had worked at Roho Foods for 12 years. She enjoyed watching baseball and basketball games on TV and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She  was a member of West 160 Church of Christ.
 She is survived by two children, Randy Long and Glen Long and wife Caroline, all of Pottersville; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Austin Long, Abigail Long, Kellie Thomas and husband Kane and their son, Kase, and Tyler Long; two brothers, Donald Joice and wife Emilie of Pottersville, and Earl Joice and wife Ruby of Branson; one sister, Stella Collins of Branson; one sister-in-law, Linda Long of West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.
 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died Nov. 19, 2004; one son, Roy Lee Long; two brothers, Ernest and Charles Joice; and two sisters, Dorothy Pointer and Mabeline Joice.
Burial will be in the Gospel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gospel Hill Cemetery and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at robertsondrago.com.
