Jack Pitchford, 72
Funeral services for Jackie Laroy “Jack” Pitchford, 72, of Tecumseh, were held Jan. 17, 2020, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville with Jeff Dotson officiating. Mr. Pitchford died Jan. 9 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Sept. 6, 1947, in Gainesville, the oldest of six children born to Bob and Darlene Thompson Pitchford.
On June 13, 1970, he married Rose Ann Tye. He was avid in Boy Scouts, reaching the rank of Eagle Scout. He spent two years in Vietnam and several years in the Reserve. He loved the outdoors, gardening and fishing. He also loved his family and enjoyed playing with his grandkids. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Mr. Pitchford is survived by two children, Raymond Pitchford of Tecumseh, and Jennifer Stage of Gainesville; four grandchildren, Issac, Joshua, Kainen and Emily Stage; one sister Fran Napper; three brothers Jim, Jerry and Johnnie Pitchford; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose Pitchford, who died Aug. 2, 2016; and one sister, Carroll Wise.
Burial with full military honors was in the Brushy Knob Cemetery.
