James Hudson, 84

James McKinley Hudson, 84, of Gainesville, died April 8, 2018, at his home. Close family members will be invited to a graveside memorial service to be held later at Loftis Cemetery.
He was born May 4, 1933, in Gainesville, the son of Ambrose McKinley and Mable Olive (Red) Hudson. He grew up working at the family homestead as a farmer. He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1950 and drove a flat-bed truck hauling cans of milk for many years. Then he upgraded to hauling bulk milk. His family milked cows and hauled hay for most of his life.
On Jan. 22, 1982, in Douglas County, he married Marcelline Doran Hinrichs. He was also married to Freda Loftis for 25 years and had four children.
He lived and loved fishing, hunting and playing his guitars while living at his farm near Romance for 54 years.
He is survived by his wife, Marcelline, of Ava; four children, Carol Taylor of Spokane, Donald Hudson and Doug Hudson, both of Gainesville, and Jamie Hudson of Thornfield; three step-children, Jacklyn Jennings, Roger Hinrichs and Danny Hinrichs; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Maggie Gage; and many nieces and nephews he loved dearly.         
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Freda Loftis; five siblings, Maxine Rodriguez, Lorene Rimmer, Joseph Jarrett Hudson, Sue McClung and Larry Hudson.
