John L. King Jr., 80

A celebration of the life of John L. King Jr., 80, of Novato, California, formerly of Ozark County, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at Sallee Cemetery near Gainesville. Mr. King died March 19, 2019, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side.

He was born May 25, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John L. King and Frances Theodora Shaw. He served in the Marine Corps Reserves for six years. On March 17, 1979, in San Rafael, California, he married Ozark County native Rosalie Miller.  Later in 1979, they moved to Ozark County and bought what was then Farmer’s store at Highways 160 and J, renaming it Miller’s Store. They sold the business in 1983 and settled on a farm on Bridges Creek.
