Julia ‘Julie’ Fowler, 71
Private memorial services will be held for Julia “Julie” Christine Fowler, 71, of Clarkridge, Arkansas. Mrs. Fowler died Dec. 23, 2019, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
She was born Sept. 3, 1948, in Belvidere, Illinois, the daughter of Caswell Holt Sr. and Virginia Corlett Holt.
She worked for Harp’s Foods in Mountain Home for 18 years as deli/bakery manager, winning the Manager of the Year award several times. She was owner and operator of Julie’s Hallmark in Mountain Home for 15 years.
She and Vernon, her husband of 54 years, operated Fowler Ranch together at Clarkridge, winning the Baxter County Farm Family of the Year award in 2018.
Mrs. Fowler always had a smile for everyone and a gracious way of making everyone feel better after talking with her. Her quiet wisdom was valued by all. She enjoyed being outdoors in her garden and fishing when she had the chance. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her beloved furry friends, Manny and Jack.
She is survived by husband, Vernon, of the home; her son, Johnny Fowler and wife Kim of Tecumseh; her daughter, Verna Ussery and husband Steve of Clarkridge; two sisters, Connie Campbell and husband Jim of Roscoe, Illinois, and Laura Wiegert and husband Glen of Pecatonica, Illinois; grandchildren Abby Duvall and husband Jacob, Adam Fowler, Alexa Fowler and Holt Ussery; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Keith Fowler; her parents; her brother, Caswell Holt Jr.; three sisters, Evelyn Abel, Della Armbruster and Marjorie Masterson.
