Karen N. (Snook) Davis

Karen Nadean (Snook) Davis, 82, of Findlay, OH, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 in the comfort of her home with family beside her. She was born on November 9, 1936 in Lima, Ohio to the late Clarence J. and Virginia E. (Barkhurst) Snook. On August 22, 1953, Karen married Edward J. Davis and he preceded her in death on February 17, 2015. 

Karen lived in the Lima, Delphos area until 1976 and worked at Sarah Jane Nursing Home in Delphos, OH. Karen retired after 22 years of working at Baxter Manor in Mountain Home, AR. She and Ed moved to Gainesville, MO and after the passing of her husband, she returned to Ohio in 2016 to live with her daughter. While in Gainesville, MO, Karen was a member of the Friendly Neighbors Group of Ozark County Extension, and helped with dinners at the Gainesville Lions Club. She fell ill with B Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and kidney disease. Karen also attended Findlay First Assembly of God. 

Karen is survived by her children, Bill (Deborah) Davis of West Plains, MO, Walter (Cindy) Davis of Jackson, MO, Jennifer (Steve) Waltmire of Findlay, OH, Patty (Steve) Powell of St. Catherines, Ontario Canada, Kathy Mead of Delphos, OH and Penny (Andrew) Messick of Grandby, MO; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Clarence (Jim) Snook of Lima, OH; and sister, Marcia (Jim) Falk, also of Lima. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Jean Snook; and son-in-law, Ted Mead. 

The family would like to extend a big thank you to the Bridge Home Health and Hospice for the compassionate care offered to Karen and the family during this difficult time. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Findlay First Assembly of God. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Karen’s name may be made to Billy Graham Ministries or Kidney Foundation or to Smith Chapel Cemetery in Gainesville, MO.
