Marcia Ruth Baxley, 91

Visitation for Marcia Ruth Williamson Baxley, 91, of Belton, formerly of Gainesville, was held March 20, 2018, at Charter Funerals in Kansas City. Graveside service and burial are scheduled for 1 p.m. today, March 21, at the Thornfield Cemetery in Ozark County. Mrs. Baxley died March 17 at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home in Belton.
She was born April 2, 1926, in Burbank, Oklahoma, the daughter of K.C. and Jencie Williamson. She was raised at Nottinghill in Ozark County and later taught school at Nottinghill and Macks Creek. She retired from the Kansas City Southern Railroad after 42 years of service.
Mrs. Baxley was a devoted Christian and a member of the Lilly Ridge General Baptist Church in Gainesville. Her wishes were expressed in this quote: “No glasses or jewelry; wrap me in a sheet as I am only sleeping.”
A kind and giving lady, she always made people feel welcome and loved.  She enjoyed helping others and most of all enjoyed being with her family. She loved all of her family and they loved her; she will be missed.
She is survived by her son, Dennis G. Williamson and wife Lynda of Belton; grandson Dennis G. Williamson Jr. of St. Louis; two great-grandchildren, Sam and Noah Williamson of St. Louis; one brother, the Rev. Calvin Williamson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and three sisters: Eudine Robb of Forsyth,  Veta Cook of Louisburg, Kansas, and Yvonne Keeny of Merriam Woods, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends and loved ones. When her son married Lynda, Mrs. Baxley welcomed with open arms and a caring heart: Tiffany and Doug Puhl and their children Jarret and Jalynn, who are also among her survivors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, George Wallace and Charles Tinkey; and five brothers: Warren, Raymond, Charles, Verl and Wayne Williamson.
