Patricia Lee Jarman Brewer, 85

Patricia Lee Jarman Brewer, 85, of Springfield, formerly of St. Joseph, died March 5, 2019, in Springfield. A family service will be held at a later date.

She was born May 13, 1933, in Gainesville, the only daughter of the seven children born to Truman and Beulah Graves Jarman. The second-oldest child, she often said it was all the extra exercise she got tending to and keeping up with her six brothers that prepared her for her active adult years.

She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1951 and moved to St. Joseph with a friend shortly after graduation to begin her working career. One of her early jobs was working at a photographic studio.

After she married Lee Brewer in 1953 in St. Joseph, she became a homemaker. When her son, Stephen, grew up and left home, she started selling real estate and became a very successful Realtor who also owned several rental properties in St. Joseph.

She adored her two grandchildren and loved her brothers dearly; she thought whatever they did was great. She lived on six acres, where she loved and nurtured lots of flowers and fruit trees. Her favorite activity was walking her property, enjoying its beauty. She also loved collecting antiques.

She is survived by her son, Stephen, of St. Joseph; two grandchildren, Stephanie of Springfield and Christopher of Lee’s Summit; brothers Charles Jarman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Joe Jarman and wife Retha of Arlington, Texas, Jerry Jarman and wife Louise of Gassville, Arkansas, and Roger Jarman and wife Patricia of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brothers Bill Jarman and Mike Jarman.

Burial will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery in Ava..
