Velma ‘Imogene’ Bias, 86

Funeral services for Velma “Imogene” Bias 86, of Protem, were held July 7, 2018, at True Hope Baptist Church in Theodosia. Visitation was held Friday evening at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar. Mrs. Bias died July 4.
She was born July 1, 1932, in Lutie, the daughter of Hugh and Addie Crawford Ward. She worked for the Liberal Schools for several years. She and her husband, J.R. Bias, operated the Bias TV Service until their retirement. Then they took up woodworking as their second hobby. Mrs. Bias was known for her beautiful crochet work; she could look at anything and then make it.
She was a “people person” who never met a stranger. In recent years, she began a new career as a travel agent. Her own love for travel made the work easy for her, and she enjoyed helping others plan their getaways.
Her great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye, especially Izzy and Emma. She loved going to garage sales with Kody and watching Colton and Wyatt play baseball, and she loved being with Allee (and husband Brian), Erica, Mark, Meggie and Laney.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Lintner and husband Richard of Wellsville, Kansas, and Glenda Marler and husband David of Protem; one step-daughter, Kathie Loftis of Gainesville; three grandchildren, Jana Lee Duitsmann, Annette Dunn and Clint Marler and wife Shellie; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild due in October.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister and one step-grandson.
Burial was in the Lutie Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at konantzwarden.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, Hospice Compassus or to Lutie Cemetery and may be mailed in care of the funeral home: Konantz Warden Funeral Home, 1301 Gulf, Lamar, MO 64759.
