Zelma Boatright, 94

Funeral services for Zelma Ola Boatright, 94, of Zanoni, were held April 30 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home with Wayne Camp officiating. Mrs. Boatright died April 28 at her home.
She was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Trail, the daughter of Fred and Belvy Parsley. She grew up in the Trail community and attended Cedar Tree school.
She married Henderson Boatright and was devoted to her family. Her home was always open to those who needed a place to stay. She will always be remembered for her homemade yeast rolls and for the gatherings she hosted on Thanksgiving – always referred to as “Turkey Day.” She was an excellent seamstress, and she enjoyed gardening  and  woodworking projects. She did quilting as a home business as well as for her family. She was a devoted member of Smith Chapel Church of Christ.
Mrs. Boatright will be greatly missed by those she loved.
She is survived by her daughter Ellen Collins and husband Donald of Zanoni; her brother Doyle Parsley of Klamath Falls, Oregon; grandsons Phillip Boatright of West Plains and Justin Akridge of Columbia; nieces Linda Secrist and husband Curtis of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Sheila Calhoun and husband Albert of Springfield; nephew Rick Parsley and wife Martha of Knox City, Missouri; and a very special friend, Greg Aldrich of St. Louis, who was like a son to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henderson Boatright; her son Elvis Cockrum, and sisters Verna Driskell and Lydia Driskell and brother Herman Parsley.
Burial was at Smith Chapel Cemetery.
