Gainesville School’s archery team gets new equipment

Gainesville School’s archery team has some brand-new equipment, thanks to generous donations and money raised by parents selling T-shirts. “What an incredible experience to be part of a community that supports its local school,” said  Greg Lowder, who coaches the archery team along with Melinda Peirce. “Mrs. Peirce and I are overwhelmed by the community and parents’  support.”

Donations from Doug Hawkins of Shelter Insurance, Billy Pippin, C.P.A., and the Ozark County Youth Opportunities organization, combined with proceeds from T-shirt sales made it possible for the school to purchase 11 new bows.

Michael Strain Custom Concrete made an additional donation to purchase a new locking bow holder to store and transport the equipment. “Our small school competed at the state level last year on what little used equipment we had,” Strain said. “I’m happy to see the community coming together to support this team. Great things are coming for Bulldog archery.”

“The archery program is a great addition to Gainesville school,” said donor Doug Hawkins. “I’m happy to help. I also want to thank David Murphy and Billy Pippin with Ozark County Youth Opportunities for helping make the purchase possible.”
