Wasola sisters place in Missouri State Cross Country
Ava High School senior Bailey Ray placed sixth out of 161 competitors in the Class 2 5K state competition Saturday in Jefferson City, achieving a time of 19:52:44. Bailey qualified for state competition by winning the individual championship during district competition in Willow Springs. Her sister, sophomore Darci Ray, placed 138th out of the 161 competitors in the state competition, turning in a time of 24:33. Darci qualified for state by coming in 19th overall in districts with a time of 24:29, one of her personal best times. The girls are the daughters of Dwain and Crystal Ray of Wasola and the granddaughters of Kenneth and Carma Fazier of Gainesville and Mark and Deloris Ray of Wasola.
