Lady Bulldogs improve to 17-1

The Gainesville Lady Bulldogs moved to 17-1 on the year Monday night after defeating intra-county rival Dora 59-33. The Lady Bulldogs are having one of the best seasons in school history and are ranked fifth in the state and 4-0 in conference play.
Against Dora, Michia Jenkins led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points, followed by Tali Rose who netted 10. Sarah Evans scored 8 for Gainesville, while Madison Strong and Annie Noah contributed 7 points each.
Others scoring for Gainesville were Abby Britt 5, Destiny Scott 3, Scout Jeckstadt 2 and Kelsie Meyers 3.
Individual stats were not available from Dora coaches.
Gainesville's girls will travel to Sparta Thursday to battle the Lady Trojans in a non-conference game; they're scheduled to play in the Southwest Baptist Shootout Saturday at Bolivar.
