Authorities investigating suspected homicide in Dugginsville

Charles Fred Wiggins, 79, of Dugginsville, died Friday at a Springfield hospital of stab wounds incurred Friday afternoon during an alleged attack by a knife-wielding woman at his home. Mr. Wiggins is the father of Lee Bearden, a former Ozark County Sheriff's deputy and currently a Republican candidate for Ozark County Sheriff.

The Ozark County Sheriff's Office said Angela Plemmons, 41,  was charged late Friday night with first degree murder and armed criminal action.

Authorities said Wiggins was stabbed multiple times Friday afternoon on his property in Dugginsville.
