The Bakersfield Lions baseball team recently posted impressive wins in late-season tournament play as they gear up for the class 2 district 10 tournament set for May 15–22 in Gainesville.

Competing in the Southern Invitational on April 25–26, the Lions opened with a dominant 11-1 win over Alton, dropped a tough game to Van Buren, but bounced back strong with a 9-4 victory over Hartville. The team kept the momentum rolling at the “Bats On The Border” event on April 28, where they cruised to a 17-2 win against Viola (Arkansas), showcasing their offensive firepower.

The Bakersfield boys’ match-ups Monday resulted in losses to Mountain View and Thayer. The Lions schedule has them facing Norwood and Couch in away games prior to the May 15-22 class 2 district tournament in Gainesville.
