Bakersfield softball
The Bakersfield Lady Lions softball team is finding its stride just in time for the postseason.
After a tough three-game stretch that included close losses to Willow Springs (5-4) and a high-scoring battle at Fordland (32-16), the Lady Lions bounced back in dramatic fashion with a 13-12 win over Pleasant Hope on May 2.
That victory brings renewed energy as the team heads into its final regular season games — a road match-up at Reeds Spring on May 6 and another at Winona on May 7.
The Lady Lions will open play in the class 1 district 4 tournament in Gainesville on May 12 with a first-round match-up against Mansfield at 2 p.m.
With their offense heating up and momentum on their side, the Lady Lions will look to make a statement in district play.
