Bakersfield XC runners compete

The Bakersfield Lions and Lady Lions competed in the Oct. 17 Fordland Iron Mountain Run.

In the high school division running 3.1 miles, varsity girls placed as follows: Keeley Stevens in 21st with 27:40, Sadie Davidson in 40th place with a time of 40:10:85 followed by Rienna Velasquez who was just a hair behind at 40:10:86. 

In the varsity boys division, also competing in the 3.1-mile distance, the team took home the seventh place spot. Individually, CJ Lamb secured the 14th place position and earned a medal with his 19:27 run, followed by Tyler Hodgson in 29th place with 20:51, Mason Bean in 30th place with 20:58, Levi Hodgson in 38th place with a time of 21:45, Gage Samuels in 48th place with a time of 22:37 and Jessie Tacket coming in 62nd place with a time of 25:48. 

In the 2-mile run, middle schooler Marcus Meskimen took 30th place with a time of 14:35.

The Lions cross country runners will see district action later this week with the class 1 district 7 tournament Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau) High School.
