OZARK COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS BRIEFS: Sept. 20 - Bakersfield Lions

Volleyball

The Bakersfield Lady Lions captured a win last week, beating Mansfield 3-0 on Sept. 12. Bakersfield will host Bradleyville on Sept. 25.

Baseball

The Bakersfield Lions baseball team won one and lost one in action last week, winning at home against Winona 11-5 on Sept. 11, and losing at Dora 8-7 on Sept. 15. Bakersfield will host Hartville on Sept. 21 and Dora on Sept. 25.

Junior high basketball

The Bakersfield junior high girls basketball team picked up two wins last week, beating Koshkonong at home on Thursday and pounding Bradleyville on the road on Friday.

In the Koshkonong game, Bakersfield won 34-12, with Aubrey Luna leading Bakersfield in scoring with 8, followed by Carrleigh Green and Alyssa Gailey with 6 each, Bristol Robinson with 5, Eden Cotter with 4, Kelsey Cotter with 3 and Jackie Smith with 2.

On Friday, Bakersfield embarrassed Bradleyville in their own gym, 45-2.

Aubrey Luna again led Bakersfield, this time with 15 points. Alyssa Gailey had 8 points for Bakersfield, while Carrleigh Green netted 7, Bristol Robinson had 5, Shaniah Foster and Kelsey Cotter 4 apiece and Eden Cotter scored 2.

The Bakersfield JH boys also won on Thursday against Koshkonong 40-18. Individual stats were not reported.
