County buys road grader
Ozark County Commissioners opened bids Monday for a new road grader.
Two bidders submitted bids for the new grader that will be used on the county's east side.
Murphy Tractor & Equipment of Springfield and Fabick Caterpillar of Fenton were the two bidders.
Commissioners T.J. Lewis, Dave Morrison and Greg Donley chose Murphy Tractor & Equipment's bid of $155,741 on a new John Deere 770GP. That amount includes a $55,000 trade-in allowance on an old grader.
Fabick's bid was close, $158,110 for a new Caterpillar 140M. Their bid also allowed for trade-in of the old grader.
Lewis said the money for the new grader came from FEMA money that was reimbursed to the county from the 2008 ice storm.
The new grader is expected to be delivered in the next 30 days.
