Man charged in stalking case, violating ex-parte

Joshua Nelson

Joshua Nelson, 26, of Lead Hill, Arkansas, has two cases filed in Ozark County Court charging him with stalking a relative and violating an ex-parte order of protection multiple times.

According to the probable cause statements in the cases, Nelson is alleged to have attempted to contact his ex-wife, who has a full order of protection from Boone County, Arkansas, from Feb. 5, 2024, through Feb. 5, 2029.

One instance was on April 21, 2024, when Nelson reportedly showed up at a house in Theodosia in order to speak with the ex-wife. The woman’s mother told Nelson that he should pay child support and then told him she was calling the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department. She said he left after that. The ex-wife told officers that Nelson had attempted to contact her several times by using other individuals’ phones before he showed up at the residence.

On another occasion, Sept. 9, 2024, the woman said that Nelson had been trying to contact her since midnight the night before. Officers met with the woman and took photos of all of the messages and list of recent calls from the numbers Nelson was using in an attempt to contact her.

Nelson was arrested Jan. 20, and released on his own recognizance the same day with directives that included having no contact with the victim in the case. He was ordered to return to court before Associate Judge Raymond Gross on Jan. 28, but he failed to appear. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. He is to be held without bond until his next court hearing.
