Man charged with tampering with a victim for trying to get charges dropped

Aaron Bradley Perry, 29, of Isabella, has been charged in a second recent case with tampering with a victim in a felony prosecution. He is being held in the Ozark County Jail without bond. A plea hearing or trial setting is set for 1:30 p.m. June 30. Perry is being represented by public defender Bethany Turner.

The case is in connection with another case in which Perry was recently charged with burglary, child kidnapping, two counts of kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a child, tampering with a victim and two counts of domestic assault.

According to the probable cause statement filed in the case, prepared by Ozark County Sheriff Cass Martin, at 11:30 p.m. May 5, the sheriff received information from the Ozark County dispatch office of a report of tampering with a witness at the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office.

“Aaron was transported to the Ozark County courthouse for arraignment of current charges. Mr. Perry had requested permission to contact his family by his cellphone located at the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department. When the jail staff brought Mr. Perry back to the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department after court, Mr. Perry was issued his cellphone to make the call,” the sheriff wrote in his report. “Mr. Perry attempted to contact [confidential victim #1] to get her to drop charges. [Confidential victim #1] contacted the sheriff’s office in fear Mr. Perry was going to be released from custody. [Confidential victim #1] advised Mr. Perry had contacted her by cellphone, advising her to drop the charges.”
