Pair charged in 2023 theft at Tobacco Warehouse
Two warrants, each with a $1,500 cash-only bond, has been issued for the arrest of 36-year-old Bret Wayne Anderson and 42-year-old Renee Dixion, both of Flippin, Arkansas, in connection with a newly filed Ozark County case in which they are charged in connection with the theft of $815 from a coin-operated gaming machine at Tobacco Warehouse, located near the Missouri-Arkansas line on Highway 5. Although the case was filed Dec. 31, 2024, the alleged incident occurred two years ago. In most cases, the prosecutor has up to three years to file a case before it reaches the statute of limitations.
According to the probable cause statements, prepared by Ozark County Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Ator, at 1 p.m. Jan. 17, 2023, the officer was dispatched to Tobacco Warehouse for a report of stealing.
Video surveillance reportedly shows that Anderson pried open a coin operated gaming machine and removed the cash cassette, which contained the $815, while Dixion served as a lookout.
Anderson is charged with the class D felony of stealing $750 or more, and Dixion is charged with the class D felony of acting as an accessory to stealing $750 or more.
