Damage reported from storm
Authorities haven't said whether or not they believe a fire that heavily damaged A&A Loans on Highway 5 at the state line Thursday afternoon was related to a powerful thunderstorm that brought intense lightning, heavy winds and rain to the area.
The business and a nearby structure were heavily damaged in a blaze that began around 4:30 Thursday afternoon. Several trees were also blown down by the storm on either side of the state line on Highway 5, officials said.
There were no injuries in connection with the storm. Fire departments from Gainesville, Lick Creek, Wasola, Pontiac and Timber Knob responded to the blaze.
