Crystal J. Lewis, 34, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, was recently charged with felony domestic assault in connection with an alleged June 14 physical assault of her mother. A warrant with a $2,500 cash-only bond was issued in the case.

According to the probable cause statement in the case, Ozark County Sgt. Vesa Phelan and Cpl. Kenny Hannaford were dispatched to a residence in Gainesville for a report of an assault at 9:23 p.m. Wednesday, June 14. When the officers arrived on scene, they were met by a woman wearing bloody clothing and with a bloody nose and mouth.

The report says the distraught woman told the officers that her daughter had come to see the daughter’s grandchildren, who live with her (their grandmother). After about an hour of visiting, one of the children reportedly called the victim (the children’s grandmother) “mommy,” and Lewis, the mother of the children, became very upset. The grandmother reportedly told Lewis to leave the residence and walked her to the door of the house. Before she left, Lewis reportedly struck her mother in the face, knocking her to the ground. After she was lying on the floor, Lewis kicked her mother in the face several times, the report says. She then left. Both children were reportedly present during the assault.
