Dora Falcons fall to Couch, drop to 2-8
The Dora Falcons traveled to Couch Friday, Dec. 20 to take on the Indians. Dora Coach Stetson Neldon said the Falcons started out playing well and were up big, but fell apart late in the game. The Falcons lost 62-48, dropping their season record to 2-7.
“We showed moments of greatness and then moments of not so great,” the coach said. “It was frustrating because we played so well and couldn’t hold them off. The only thing we can do is fix the mistakes that were made and move forward.”
Carson Howard led the scoring with 16 points, followed by Taber Walker with 14.
Dora’s JV also lost their contest, falling 37-10 in the two-quarter game. “There were good moments, but we just didn’t play well tonight,” Coach Neldon posted on Facebook following the game.
This week the varsity Falcons are competing in the Cabool Holiday Tournament being held Dec. 25-30.
Thursday afternoon, Dora lost to a very good Mt. View Liberty Eagles team, 76-42. Leading scorers were Carson Howard with 13 points and Taber Walker with 10.
Dora played Plato at noon Friday, Dec. 27 in the second round of the Cabool Holiday Tournament. Results of that game were unavailable at presstime.
