The Dora Lady Falcons volleyball teams picked up a pair of victories last week, with both the varsity and junior varsity squads finding success against Koshkonong and Bradleyville.

Dora opened the week Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Koshkonong, where the varsity Lady Falcons earned a straight-set victory, 25-15, 25-10, 25-14. The junior varsity also came away with a win, taking both sets played.

The Lady Falcons continued their strong play Thursday, Sept. 10, at Bradleyville. Dora’s varsity squad dominated the match, winning 25-11, 25-10 and 25-6. The JV followed with a 25-2, 25-13 victory.

Brailyn Hambelton served up 10 aces in the varsity match against Bradleyville, while Montgomery Mitchell led the attack with 11 kills. Karly Bettis recorded 10 assists, and Rayne Robinson added eight assists.

Dora Coach Brandi Montgomery said the Lady Falcons played well and showed strong teamwork in both matches.

“After a recent change in our varsity rotation, the girls adapted well and are showing strong team cohesion,” Montgomery said. “Everyone is accepting their role and playing their part.”

Both the varsity and junior varsity teams now stand at 3-3 on the season.

The Lady Falcons face two more tests this week, taking on a new Alton program and a tough, experienced Eminence team.

“We hope to come away with two more victories this week,” Montgomery said.

Dora traveled to Alton Tuesday, Sept. 15 and will host Eminence  at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.
