Dora Lady Falcons play Houston Thursday in Thayer Winter Classic basketball tourney

The Dora Lady Falcons are competing in the 50th Annual Thayer Winter Classic basketball tournament this week.

Dora, seeded fourth, will take on the Houston Lady Tigers, seeded fifth, at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8.

The Dora girls hold a 5-9 season record after their Jan. 11 loss to Gainesville. Houston’s record is 1-9 on the season so far.

Mammoth Spring is seeded first and has a bye for the first round, as does Thayer, seeded second. 

Number three seed Liberty plays Ava, seeded sixth, immediately following the Dora vs. Houston game.

Play-off games start at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, with Mammoth Spring taking on the winner of the Dora vs. Houston game, followed by Thayer taking on the winner of the Liberty vs. Ava game at 3:30 p.m.

Consolation finals are at 5:30 p.m., followed by the third place game and ending with the championship game starting around 8:30.
