Dora School FFA president places in state contest
The 2024 Missouri Sheep Producers State FFA Speaking contest was held at Margaritaville Resort on Sunday Dec. 8, and Dora FFA President Chloe Barton (third from right) won the contest for the south central region. Christy Green, executive director of Missouri Sheep Producers and chairman of the event said, “The contest is designed to develop individual public speaking skills and to promote interest in and awareness of the many different aspects of the sheep industry.” Participants earned the right to compete at the state contest by winning their respective district competitions. Other district winners were: central district: Bailey Wheeler of Osceola FFA; and southeast district: Sandy Miranda of East Prairie FFA. Results of the competition were as follows: first place: Kale Pollard of North Shelby FFA; second place: Emily Fox of Mt. Vernon FFA; third place: Ben Brubaker of Chillicothe FFA. Christy Green, MSP Executive Director, presented each of the participants with a plaque and a check from MSP.
