Dora student takes second at State Fair

Zane Olmsted is pictured after showing his Spot gilt in the photo at top and his Berkshire gilt in the photo below at the Missouri State Fair.

Zane Olmsted, a fourth grader at Dora School and a Dora 4-H member, finished the year by taking second place in gilts class of the Berkshire and Spot swine divisions at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia.

Olmsted qualified to participate in the breeding hog sale for the Berkshire and Spot breeds and sold both gilts. The same gilts shown by Olmsted were named Reserve Champion Berkshire in the open show and Reserve Champion Spot Gilt in the junior show at the Ozark Empire Fair in Springfield earlier in August.

Olmsted is the son of Ashley and Shane Olmsted of Dora.
