Dora track team competes at state, Cade Nold defends title and again brings home gold medals
Dora Falcon junior Cade Nold made a splash at last year’s class 1 state track meet, earning two gold medals in the 400 meter dash and 800 meter run - as a sophomore.
Coming back into the competition this year at the Missouri Class 1 state meet, held May 17-18 in Jefferson City, Cade put in the work and defended both titles, earning another set of gold medals for the events.
In the 400 meter dash, Cade took first place with a 49.15 second run in the finals, beating the other competitors and his own time last year of 49.63 and setting a new meet record. The finish was a full second ahead of the silver medalist, Preston Anderson, from Appleton City.
Cade earned the top spot in the 800 meter run as well, finishing the final race with a time of 1:57.04, shaving off a half second over last year’s time of 1:57.53 and coming in two seconds ahead of the second place runner, Michael Parrigon of McAuley Catholic.
