Bulldogs take wins and defeats in recent play
In Gainesville JH basketball news, the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs have been busy with full schedules.
On the boys side of things, the Bulldogs have fought hard.
Both the A and B boys teams took wins in home games against Norwood Oct. 7. On the A team, the Bulldogs won 48-11, with high scorers Hoyt Crouse contributing 14, Carson Nielson and Corbin West bringing in 12 points each and Parker Gilmore adding another six. On the B team, twin brothers Luke and Jake Hogan lead the scoring efforts with 8 points each, followed by Kyle Winrod with 6 points and Lucas Wrinkles with 4.
The Gainesville boys A team was victorious in an Oct. 11 away game against Conway, taking a 47 to 53 win. Leading scorers were Keaton Hand with a whopping 19 points. Carson Nielson brought in 8 points, Parker Gilmore added 5 and Jake Hogan earned 2. In a close game, the B team fell short 36 to 34. Luke Hogan led that game’s scoring efforts with 15 points, followed by Jake Hogan with 8 points and Kyle Winrod with 6. Parker Gilmore and Carson Nielson both had two points, and Brantley Nash chipped in one.
The Bulldogs saw another win in an Oct. 3 away game against Bakersfield. The A team won 42-22, and the B team won 29-18. The boys took losses in both A and B teams in an Oct. 1 game against Hartville and an Oct. 4 game against Chadwick. At Hartville, the A team fell 52 to 21, and the B team lost 26-19. At Chadwick, the A team fell 47-29, and B team ended the game with a 25-23 loss.
Girls JH basketball
The Gainesville JH girls took home a clean 45-11 win in a home game against Norwood Oct. 7. Macy Hambelton put 13 points on the scoreboard, and Violet Winrod added 12 more. Sadie Walker and Lola Wade both made 8 points, and Regan Blackburn added 2.
The girls earned another win Oct. 3 in an away game in Bakersfield. Macy Hambelton and Lola Wade led the scoring with 12 points each, followed by Sadie Walker with 10 points, Regan Blackburn with 6 points and Payton Eslinger and Violet Winrod, who added two points.
The girls fell to Chadwick 45-43 in an Oct. 4 home game, took a 44-12 win against Bakersfield Oct. 3. Both an A team and B team competed in an away game against Hartville Oct. 1. The A team won 56 to 14, and the B team also took the contest 29 to 4.
