Bulldogs win 3 in a row (week of 5/1/23)

The state-ranked Gainesville Bulldog baseball squad improved to 16-4 on the year after picking up wins over Norwood, Fordland and Dora this past week.

The Bulldogs, ranked 5th in the state in class 2 action, traveled to Norwood on April 24. Gainesville only put up two runs in the game, but it was enough as they blanked the Norwood hurlers 2-0.

On April 28, Gainesville held another opponent scoreless, beating Fordland at home 6-0.

On Monday, May 1, Gainesville traveled across the creek to Dora for an intra-county matchup with the Falcons. The Bulldog bats came alive at Dora, as Gainesville put up 15 runs on the board and held Dora to just 5 runs to capture the victory.

Gainesville was scheduled to travel to Ava on Tuesday and will host Seymour on Thursday.

The Bulldogs are in full preparation mode for the Class 2 District 10 Tournament which will be May 15-17.

Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldogs softball squad ran all over Conway in action at home Monday evening.

The Gainesville girls beat Conway 17-1.

The 9-14 Lady Bulldogs start district action later this week.
