Summit Conference champions and making school history The Gainesville High School girls varsity cross country team made school history when they took first place at the Summit Conference meet held in Conway Monday, Oct. 27. The win marks the first time the school’s cross country program has won the conference championship. Runners medaling and earning all-conference honors were Jessica Suit, second place, Kaitlyn Kahl, fourth place and Annabell Snelson, sixth place. Isabelle Workman placed 11th and earned all-conference honorable mention. Summit Conference middle school champions The Gainesville High School girls varsity cross country middle school girls team also took first place at the Summit Conference meet held in Conway Monday, Oct. 27. Prentice Creed was the conference champion, placing first in the 2500m race. Other runners who medaled and earned all-conference honors were Piper Riff, second; Reese Estes, seventh; Libby Miller, eighth; and Payton Eslinger, 10th. Calla Cochran placed 13th and Raine Similkier placed 14th to earn all-conference honorable mention. Summit Conference second place The Gainesville Middle School boys ran hard at the Summit Conference meet held in Conway Monday, Oct. 27, missing first place by just one point. Adien Thome was the Summit Conference champion, placing first in the race. Other runners who medaled and earned all-conference honors were Warren Estes, ninth and Dante Thomas, 10th. Brody Cooper placed 13th and earned all-conference honorable mention.
