Gainesville Bulldogs now 2-2

The Gainesville Bulldogs baseball team, coached by Blake Hobbs,  opened their season with a decisive 10-1 road win over Cabool Friday, March 15.

The team traveled to Cabool to compete in the Right Off the Bat Tournament Monday, March 18, where they suffered a 13-8 loss to Marshfield (6-1)  and a 13-5 loss to Clever. The Bulldogs returned Wednesday for the final round at Clever and blanked Parkview 16-0.

“We have swung it very well and faced some quality opponents. The record isn’t a pretty record, but when we face the competition that we want to compete at the level we need to win a championship, we should expect some losses,” said Hobbs. “We are improving a lot on the mound and need to continue to find ways to improve defensively. The boys have a lot of room for improvement, but I’m very excited with the potential that we possess.”
