GHS cross country team runs at Strafford

The Gainesville High School cross country team competed at the Fellows Lake 5000 hosted by Strafford High School on Saturday, Aug. 31. Eleven schools with a total of 186 runners competed at the meet.

GHS freshman Jessica Suit earned her first high school medal when she placed eighth out of 79 runners in the girls’ division with a time of 22:20. Alyssa Smith came in 41st place in 27:10 and Sarah Klessig came in 63rd in 29:50.

Sophomore Archer Luna placed 33rd with a time of 20:05. Senior Isaac Pippin finished in 20:20; John Botts-Papcke, 20:36; Kyden Myers, 27:09; Zeke Yarger, 28:20; Dylan Ries, 29:59; and Zyler Rowland, 33:25.

The Bulldogs will travel to Willow Springs Thursday, Sept. 12 and will host the Gainesville Cross Country Meet Friday, Sept. 13.
