High school spring sports seasons begin: Gainesville

The Gainesville Bulldogs baseball team, under the direction of Coach Blake Hobbs, won its first game against Cabool 10-1 on March 15. They took two losses in the Clever ROTB tourney, falling to Marshfield 8-13 and Clever 5-13 on March 18.

The Gainesville Lady Bulldogs, under the direction of Coach Ashley Comstock, participated in the 4-team summit conference softball tournament March 15-16. They lost to Sparta in the first round, but took a win against Cabool in the second round. They were scheduled to play Bakersfield Tuesday, and will face off against Houston Friday. 

The Gainesville track and field team, under the direction of Coach Gary Emrick, is scheduled for their first meet Thursday at Hollister. 

The Gainesville golf team, under the direction of Coach Lance West, is hosting the Gainesville Golf Tournament on April 3. They’ll also participate in the Seymour golf tournament April 4.
