Volleyball - The Lady Bulldogs volleyball team had losses at Conway Aug. 28 (0-3), Dora Aug. 31 (1-3) and Bradleyville Sept. 1 (0-3). Action continues this week with matches against Seymour Tuesday, Sparta Thursday and Fordland Friday. They’ll face Couch on Monday, Sept. 11. 

Baseball - The Gainesville Bulldog baseball team pulled in a win against Dora during their home opener on Aug. 29 with a score of 8-1 . They lost to Bakersfield 2-4 on Aug. 31 and to Mansfield 1-12 on Sept. 1.  Baseball action continues this week with Gainesville facing Sparta on Tuesday, Hartville on Thursday, Norwood on Monday, Sept. 11, and Seymour Tuesday, Sept. 12. 

Cross country - The Gainesville Bulldogs cross country runners competed in the Strafford Invitational held at Fellows Lake in Springfield Sept. 2, in the 3.1-mile run. The boys varsity team placed seventh as a team out of 21 schools. Ryder Murphy led the team (19:30). The varsity girls were led by Kaitlyn Kahl (23:34). The Gainesville Junior Varsity Boys had two medalists Archer Luna (third place with 21:28:3) and Macray Hambelton (fifth place with 22:00.3). The Bulldogs were scheduled to run at Willow Springs Tuesday and will travel to Alton to compete Wednesday, Sept. 13.
